Valentina's First Swim Lesson

Last Saturday, May 31st my swim career began at the Rosebowl Acquatics Center. I may not be ready for Beijing just yet, but give me a few years to perfect my technique.

My swim pals Sophia, Carissa and I couldn't wait for class to begin!

Here we go!

We warmed up with basics... like splashing

We sang songs and went round and round in a circle...

We met new friends - "how YOU doing?"...

Here I am with my instructor...

Okay, enough warm up, now it was time for the real action!

"Let me at 'em, Dad!"

"Whoa, this is intense!"

"Swimming runs in our family! My mom says Papou Angelos used to love to swim so far in the ocean, that you would lose sight of him from the shore. Maybe Sophia and I take after him!"

After that grueling class, they let us have some play time with floating inner tubes and my favorite, rubber duckies!

"Hey! That was fun! I wanna do it again!"

"Thanks Dad!"
