Last year when we went, I was pregnant, and I vividly remember dancing with Sophia and thinking "next year, the baby will be here dancing with us".
...and here she is!
She's not walking on her own quite yet (although she takes 2-3 steps on her own once in awhile), but she's pretty good at walking or dancing when we hold her hand...and she LOVED dancing with Sophia!
I don't know if you can really tell, but she's either jumping or about to jump in this one. I got a video of it, but it was on my little Canon camera and I took it vertically (so I could fit her and my mom in the screen). Unfortunately, I don't know how to rotate a video image the way you can rotate a picture image. Oh yeah, and that is NOT my foot!
Live and in action! Press play to view the video. Opa Valentina!
Valentina dragged us all around the dance floor and was SO EXCITED by everyone dancing. She would stop, bop up and down in place, and then walk, walk, walk. Stop. Repeat. Stop. Repeat. All the while, with a HUGE smile plastered across her face....showing off her 5 teeth...and occassionally letting out a happy squeal or giggle.
She missed her afternoon nap altogether, because she was TOO excited to sleep...and surprisingly, she didn't get too fussy either. Even sitting on my lap, she still had fun watching everyone dance. I could tell she was tired though, because she was very still (which is SO VERY RARE for Valentina)...but every once in a while, she'd wiggle her little legs, just WISHING she were out there herself!
She ate pastitio and LOVED the greek green beans (she usually HATES green beans, so this was a HUGE first! I have to make them for her this way from now on).
I love this picture of all the cousins. I love the way Sophia's laughing. This is totally what childhood is all about, right?
Okay, enough cuteness, back to dancing! Yiasas (goodbye everyone)!
